About Mission Control GG: "Modeled off of recreational sports, college intramurals, and fantasy baseball, Mission Control’s purpose is to gather communities through games. As the popularity of video gaming rises and the uniqueness of internet-connected games offers friends near and far the ability to play together, we are able to focus on a product that allows people to do what they love with who they love, no matter where they are. By building video game leagues for friends, Mission Control creates a space for casual, social, and recreational Esports."
Welcome to beautiful LA, the rooftop of the Ace Hotel here in downtown Los Angeles. I am joined here at the XLIVE Esports Summit opening reception with Byron Abrigg. Great to have you here Byron, can you please tell us a little bit about yourself and your company?
Yeah, my name is Byron Abrigg, based out of St Louis, Missouri. I first got introduced to esports working as a venture associate at Stadia Ventures, an early stage sports tech and esports VC out of St Louis. I learned a lot about the industry and saw a real opportunity at the recreational level. For me, gaming was always something I did with my siblings. I did with my friends. There really wasn't anything that catered to the way that I gamed. So my partner Austin and I both left Stadia and Created Mission Control. We're a platform where people can create video game leagues for friends. We are bringing rec leagues to esports and, we're really honored to be a part of of XLIVE this week.
Awesome. Thank you. This is your first time here, so what are some of the things that you're looking to get out of the XLIVE Esports Summit this week?
Well, I'm really impressed with the series of panelists that the team here has brought together. There are a number of people that I otherwise wouldn't have an opportunity to meet. So I'm really looking forward to the conversations and hopefully cultivating some relationships and learning some things at the same time.
Awesome. And for those that want to follow you on social media or all that kind of stuff or stay in contact with you, what's the best way to do that?
@MissionControlGG on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
And your platform is currently in Beta. So when are we going live?
Yes, so we're going to be launching this fall in three cities: St. Louis, Boston and Dallas. So be on the lookout for more information Tou can sign up to our newsletter at www.missionontrolgg.com, and we can go from there. Look forward to having you all on the platform with us.
Congratulations! Byron, I look forward to having you on my panel, and to seeing you moderate a few other ones.
I'm really looking forward to the week.
Awesome. We'll catch you on the next one!
