[00:52] We’re here with Craig Furst with AAA Flag and Banner. Craig, how are you doing today?

[00:56] I’m so happy to be here.

[00:58] We’re happy to have you! So, for anyone who doesn’t know about the company, let’s talk about AAA Flag & Banner. Can you could give us an overview about what you guys do?

[01:07] Sure! So we design, print, and install graphics for special events, corporate events, music festivals, entertainment, across the country. We help take a venue or a place and turn it into an experience and with the graphics that we provide, we elevate and we heighten the experience and allow the stakeholder, the consumer, to become more immersed into the event by the way the graphics create an ambiance and a feel. Graphics are used for wayfinding, directional signage, menus at concessions, an fun things like maybe a selfie moment. Everyone loves to post, so creating a cool structure that someone could stand in front of with their friends and take a picture.

[02:04] Yes, absolutely. So you guys have been in the industry for 45 years. It’s a bit of time! Three national facilities, over 5,000 clients as I understand, you guys are pretty big. You guys are a big deal.

[02:20] Yeah, we’re one of the larger graphic companies in the country and we’re very fortunate to be able to work with some of the bigger brands and opportunities that come to our country such as Super Bowls, or NBA All Star games, or the Academy Awards every year, and Disneyland. So we have earned the right to work with wonderful clients like that, by performing and delivering consistently, and standing behind the work that we do.

[02:53] Absolutely. I would say 45 years of success, of being around, is definitely a testament to the success of your company. So what kind of changes have you guys seen in that time in the industry?

[03:05] So I’ve been in the business for about 24 years now. It’s actually a family business started by my father. When I first got into the business, we were a hand painting and screen printing company. Over the years with technology and the digital evolution, digital printing creeped its way into our industry and took it over. So now where we used to have teams of guys painting by hands, I have these fancy high tech machines shooting out inks on all kinds of different materials from glass to woods to metals to vinyls and fabrics, and help to brand just about any type of environment.

[03:49] That’s amazing. Something that I found really interesting when I was on your website doing my research is that your employees have been with the company for an average of 14 years. That’s amazing. Can you talk a little bit about your company culture?

[04:07] Yeah I’m really proud of that. You’ve done quite a bit of research I see! So, it’s simple. You you treat people fair and you take care of them, and why should they go anywhere else? We have a great family environment starting from the top down. It’s a father and son organization, and that kind of family feel really permeates through our facility. In fact, a lot of our employees have a brother or a cousin or perhaps even a husband or a wife that worked there. So we do allow that. Some organizations don’t. I feel like everyone’s looking out for each other and the organization. Yeah, it’s special.

[05:07] So we are evolving, and we are rebranding, and changing our name to A3 Graphics. A3 Graphics pays homage and has legacy to AAA Flag and Banner, but it also allows us an opportunity to re-present our company to our clients in the world and offer things that previously we’ve never been able to do, and that wouldn’t really fit under the name AAA Flag and Banner, such as augmented reality. We’re working with now taking your standard flat 2D printed graphics, and bringing them to life by connecting them with technology and augmented reality. So now when we’re decorating the Oracle Stadium for the Golden State Warriors, when the fans are walking through the concourse to get to their seat and they pass by all the different players, they can shine their phone on them and have a more interactive experience where perhaps they’ll pull stats, or see some highlights, or maybe buy a jersey. So technology is playing a big role in our future, and A3 Graphics is well positioned with our new name to allow for all these great new products and technologies.
