Some Early Highlights from SXSW 2019

The XLIVE team is making it’s annual trip to Austin, Texas for SXSW, the 10 day film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences mega-event. Here are some of the notable technologies, brand activations, and experiential marketing initiatives from the first few days of the event.

Check out HBO’s interactive experience, creating an immersive world taking fans into the world of Game of Thrones.  Game of Thrones also partnered with the Red Cross to hold a blood drive at the activations.

This concept is even stranger than the tile suggests.  ‘Sushi Singularity’ is 3D printing sushi, but they also want your DNA.  The company sends you a ‘health test kit’.  The consumer then returns a sample of saliva, urine, or stool, and the company will decide what nutrients you need and print them into your meal.  Will this and more 3D printed foods be coming to culinary events near you?  Learn more at the videos below!

Technology continues to get immersive, and privacy issues continue to arise.  Learn about some of the most interactive and immersive tech from the first few days of SXSW 2019.  From virtual reality training for first responders to fires, to augmented reality which allows people to try on sunglasses before making an ecommerce purchase, AR and VR is hot topic at this year’s event.
