Metarama Gaming and Music Festival: CANCELLED

Attendees who were excited to participate in a fun new event, marrying the music festival and gaming worlds, will have to wait atleast another year.  Metarama 2019 has been cancelled, due to what their website says was the inability to create the experience the organizers had promised fans.  All fans will be fully refunded.


Four People Hospitalized at Bumbershoot Music Festival

"Saturday night at Bumbershoot Festival there was steel barricade failure that resulted in several non-life threatening injuries. Those injured were (handled) by on-site medical teams and further treatment continued at an area hospital as deemed necessary. We are monitoring the situation and will update as we get more information," the festival said in a statement.


The Fyre Festival Saga Continues

Lawsuits continue in the wake of one of the largest festival mishaps in modern history, as trustees of the festival are suing Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski to recover money allegedly paid to them for their role in promoting the event. Migos, Blink-182, Lily Yachty and Pusha T were also hit with complaints, which were filed this week in New York's U.S. Bankruptcy Court by the event's trustee, Gregory Messer.

Carbon Neutral AIF Festival Congress 2019 Coming Together

The Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) has announced details for the 2019 edition of its Festival Congress event in Sheffield, Nov. 6-7, featuring a two-day conference and the Independent Festival Awards.  In partnership with Energy Revolution, Festival Congress is set to be the first travel carbon-neutral events industry conference.   

Confirmed speakers include rock photographer Jill Furmanovsky in conversation with ILMC MD Greg Parmley. Furmanovsky has photographed the likes of Oasis, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan and Blondie across a 40-year career, in addition to extensively covering Glastonbury festival, and will be talking through some of her defining images.
